Teachers must meet the following eligibility requirements to apply:

Teach 3rd, 4th, or 5th graders in a school on the Navajo Nation or those in border towns with student populations of at least 50% Navajo students. This includes state-run public schools in both Arizona, New Mexico and Utah, as well as Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) Schools, and Charter Schools.
